“ Authentic Portuguese tasty food. Plenty to choose from as well as a long list of dishes of the day. Only down side was that it was extremely loud making it difficult to talk. It was also very busy which impacted on the service. I had to call the waitress over to order drinks and then for top ups. Despite this they were very friendly and when asked, the drinks were brought straight away. ”
“ Today I returned to Barros Restaurant after many years and was impressed with the quality of the service, the dishes were super delicious and I will definitely return more often and recommend it to friends. The waiter Felipe was very attentive and had a good sense of humor. Kudos to Felipe. ”
“ As someone who loves food not just as a foodie but also as a cook, O Barros completely won me over. The flavours were spot on, authentic, and cooked with the kind of care you can only find in a proper restaurante português or at a Portuguese home. The leitão on Sunday was perfectly roasted — crispy skin, juicy meat — the pepper sauce velvety and delicious and the cozido à portuguesa had that depth of flavour that takes hours to build. The charcuterie, and the richness of the pork cuts (trotters, ear, tail, belly) was unmatched. You could taste the patience, the tradition, and the love for proper food. Mas mais do que a comida, é o ambiente. Cozy, warm, with that familiar buzz you get in Portugal when families sit together on a Sunday. Honestly, if you closed your eyes, nunca diria que estavas no Southbank, em Londres. It felt like being back home, num restaurante tradicional, rodeado da família. As a tripeira, born and raised in Porto but living in the UK for years and travelling the world, I can tell when a place really carries the soul of Portuguese gastronomy. And here, it does. The owner, from Bragança, and the team — from norte, centro e sul — bring together the best of Portugal. There’s a pride in what they serve and a warmth in how they welcome you. Service was genuine, friendly, never rushed, and always with a smile and glad to deliver and look after. Parabéns ao dono e a toda a equipa. O Barros is more than just a restaurant, it’s a reminder of home, of authenticity, of what makes Portuguese food so special. Highly recommend, whether you’re Portuguese longing for that taste of Sunday lunch back home, or someone discovering our cuisine for the first time. Thank you to you all. Will be back soon! ”
